Does a loan processor have to be licensed?

No license needed. Been in this business for more than 7 yrs. I started with only a background in consumer lending and was lucky to get hired as a mtg loan processor and had on-the-job training. It was a tough learning curve but I persevered. Most places these days hire those with mortgage experience but your best bet would probably be finding a job at company with a lending division or a lender itself. Look for entry level position (that is, if you are willing to take this route) like working as a loan officer assistant or admin asst. It is just a matter of getting your foot in the door. Good luck!
